Choosing the Cover

I fancy myself a cheeseburger connoisseur, and let me tell you, what you see on this month's cover is a damn good burger. One press day, around dinnertime, we were cooped up in the office with a mountain of work ahead of us. I had a craving for a burger, and I had been wanting to try Home Wine Kitchen's version, as I’d heard more than a few raves about it. So, I ordered one to go and shared it with the other hungry worker-bees at the office. Amazingly, the egg was still perfectly warm and slightly runny. The meat was juicy and packed to the brim with unctuous flavor and topped with beautiful, thick-cut bacon. We talk about that burger here at the office often. We love it, and that's why it worked so well as the cover for our annual feature, The List. It's usually difficult to find one photo that can represent this kind of multi-part story, but this time, I think we nailed it. After all, The List is all about the stuff we keep eating, drinking and buying. And when it comes to our cover dish ... we're always hungry for more.
