The Boulevard Farmers Market will open in Richmond Heights

The Boulevard announced a partnership today, March 27, with Tower Grove Farmers’ Market to open a monthly farmers market in the Richmond Heights shopping district. Tower Grove market master Patrick Horine said The Boulevard Farmers Market will debut Sunday, May 6, and will take place the first Sunday of the month through October.

Horine said the first market will host approximately 25 St. Louis-area vendors, including Dang Good ProduceDierks Farm and Nutty Bites. Shoppers will be able to choose from fresh produce, meat, honey, baked goods, granola and more. The inaugural market will also feature live music and entertainment, as well as food trucks Farmtruk and Holy Crepe.

Horine, who has operated the Tower Grove Farmers’ Market for 12 years, will also operate The Boulevard market in an ongoing partnership.“We understand what farmers need and what shoppers are looking for … and we can bring the elements together more powerfully than someone starting without that experience,” he said.

He said the mission is “to increase available local food and fresh produce for St. Louis residents and … to help farmers grow sustainable operations.” He hopes the market will be a community gathering space that contributes to growth and vitality in the neighborhood.

If the market performs well this summer, Horine said he plans to increase number of vendors and the frequency of the market in upcoming years. “I’m looking forward to a new set of benefits and challenges,” he said.
