First Look: Earthbound Satellite in Soulard

Earthbound Satellite, the futuristic cocktail bar from the folks behind Earthbound Beer, has officially landed at 1921 S. Ninth St., in Soulard. Opening day is scheduled for Thursday, May 31.

As Sauce reported in March, the owners of Earthbound Beer announced plans to open the cocktail bar inspired in part by the Italian futurist art movement of the early 1900s.

The drink list, helmed by bar manager Ryan Pier, is full of fanciful creations like the Chrome Pyramid, which combines dark rum, mezcal, Capelletti, grapefruit juice, an egg white and a bit of salt, garnished with a spicy pork rind. There are also four taps on hand that will pour one-off Earthbound creations.

The space seats approximately 35 to 40 and features futuristic highlights like a Mylar-covered back bar and space age artwork along the front of the bar and on the walls, courtesy of co-owner Robin Johnson.

Earthbound Satellite will be open Monday through Friday 5 p.m. to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday 3 p.m.to midnight. Check out the latest addition to the Soulard bar scene.
