Kevin Nashan to open second Peacemaker location in Tulsa

Chef Kevin Nashan will soon bring his Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co. concept south. Nashan has announced he’ll open a second location of his popular seafood joint in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in September, as reported by the Post-Dispatch.

“One of our customers lives in Tulsa and owns a bunch of property downtown and for the last year and a half has basically been saying we should at least come visit,” Nashan said. “Last November, I figured I didn’t have anything to lose and went down there to visit.”

Nashan said he liked what he saw in Tulsa. “The food community is up and coming,” he said. “It’s got a really good feel, and I thought it’d be a really good opportunity for a Peacemaker.”

Nashan said the restaurant will be located in the Blue Dome area of downtown Tulsa in a 100-year-old building that was once a printing company. In recent years, the space has recently home to several restaurant concepts. The Tulsa Peacemaker will be similar to the original, but with some regional differences menu-wise.

“Obviously you want to have a little difference, you don’t want to completely cookie-cutter it,” he said. “There will be similar menus, but there’ll definitely be some things that aren’t on the St. Louis menu. We’re going to keep it fun and festive.”

Nashan said the new location doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to start a full-tilt expansion of the brand, noting that he’s had Sidney Street Cafe for 15 years and just opened Peacemaker in Benton Park almost four years ago.

“As our track record shows, we’re very slow [to expand], and we just do it organically,” Nashan said. “I’m just going to take it step-by-step and get this one open. We’re grateful for the opportunity.”
