First Look: Hamilton’s Urban Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar in Lafayette Square

Hamilton’s Urban Steakhouse & Bourbon Bar
opens for business today, July 12. It’s the latest project from Hamilton Hospitality, which owns neighboring Eleven Eleven Mississippi, Vin de Set, PW Pizza, 21st Street Brewers Bar and the Moulin event space.

As Sauce reported in April, Hamilton Hospitality and Charleville Brewing Co. & Tavern decided to divide the Charleville’s brewery and restaurant space at 2101 Chouteau Ave., which opened in May 2017, to house both restaurants.

The steakhouse menu is full of tried-and-true fare from aged steaks and chops to entrees like stuffed chicken breasts to sides like flash-fried Brussels sprouts and asparagus. An array of sauces and butters are also available to customize your choice of meat.

The beverage selection includes a hearty selection of beer and wine and plenty of whiskeys, including 32 bourbons. There’s also a cocktail list featuring classics like a Boulevardier with rye whiskey, Campari and sweet vermouth.

The interior seats 60 in the dining room and 14 at the bar. The decor takes advantage of the building’s industrial past with exposed brick and wood beams along with rustic touches like actual tree branch canopies strung with lights over the dining areas.

Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m.
