The Baked Bear will open first St. Louis location in The Loop

The Baked Bear
is slated to open its first St. Louis restaurant at 6140 Delmar Blvd., this Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. This location of the cookie-ice cream sandwich shop will be the 29th nationally for the San Diego-based company.

“With the concert venue, The Pageant, across the street, and the college campuses surrounding the area, we thought The Loop was a good fit for us,” said Jon Haley, head of franchise development for The Baked Bear.

Nine cookie flavors, as well as house-made brownies and doughnuts, will be on offer to pair with any of more than a dozen ice creams. “It’s a create-your-own kind of operation,” Haley said.

All storefronts have a bakery where chefs mix the cookie dough from scratch. The ice cream is also The Baked Bear brand, but it’s made at a separate facility and shipped to each franchise.

The Delmar location will have a few tables inside and potentially a few outside, given the space, but at its core, it’s a counter service restaurant, Haley said.

Haley expects regular business hours to be noon to 10 p.m. daily.
