First Look: Fox Fire in The Delmar Loop

Fox Fire, the latest eatery from restaurateur Somying Fox, who also owns Basil Spice and My Thai, officially opened its doors on Monday, April 15, at 6679 Delmar Blvd., the space most recently home to Público in University City.

The wide-ranging menu, which includes Asian specialties like Vietnamese pho, Chinese fried rice and a variety of noodle dishes, also offers spaghetti and meatballs, pork chops and even a cheeseburger in a bid to satisfy multiple culinary tastes.

“The whole family can find something on the menu,” Fox said.

The kitchen underwent some renovation, but the wood-fired grill from the Público days remains, and Fox utilizes it for a multitude of dishes.

“My grandmother taught me to cook with wood,” she said, adding that the smell of wood smoke greatly enhances the ambience.

The restaurant seats approximately 60 with a few seats available at the open kitchen in the back for those who want to be in on all of the culinary action.

Fox Fire is open daily for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner service is Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. Take a look at The Loop’s latest.
