BaiKu Sushi Lounge closes in Midtown

BaiKu Sushi Lounge in Grand Center has shuttered for good as of today, Sept. 12, as reported by the Post-Dispatch.

BaiKu owner Brad Beracha made the announcement via the restaurant’s Facebook page.

The restaurant opened in September 2014 at 3407 Olive St., inside Hotel Ignacio. Sauce reviewed it in April 2015

“I’ve worked with chef Elliot [Harris] for well over a decade,” Beracha said. “BaiKu was the best sushi in St. Louis, so I’m sad to see it go. [I’m] happy to have had that team assembled to deliver that product over the last five years. It was the last concept that I’ve opened up, but it won’t be my last.”

Beracha said his team has talked about changing things up in the lobby of the Hotel Ignacio for a while, and that they do aim to use the space for something new.

“We don’t have imminent plans to do so, but there have been talks about a new concept there,” he said.
