Michael Del Pietro will open a new restaurant in Edwardsville

Restaurateur Michael Del Pietro (Il Palato, Del Pietro’s, Tavolo V, et al.) will bring a breakfast- and lunch-focused restaurant to The Parkway, a new mixed-use development in Edwardsville, as reported by St. Louis Magazine. Del Pietro said he’s looking at an early summer opening.

The first Michael Del Pietro Restaurant Group space in Edwardsville was location of Sugo’s, which opened at 243 Harvard Drive in 2012.

“I’m looking forward to opening our second location in Edwardsville,” Del Pietro said. “We really love the market.”

Del Pietro said he’s planning to offer breakfast and lunch service during the week, with brunch on weekends and dinner on Friday and Saturday. The yet-unnamed spot will offer American fare, but with a twist.

“The menu’s definitely going to be a little more eclectic. It’s not going to be Italian at all,” he said. “We’re going to be American eclectic. We’re going to look to do some breakfast items, obviously, but maybe with a little spin on them, a little more obscure than eggs over easy with sausage, hash browns and an English muffin.”

The restaurant will have a full bar program. “Wine’s a big portion of the bar. Spirits are huge,” Del Pietro said. “Definitely a full bar with extensive wine for the nighttime business.”

Del Pietro said Scott Volding of Volding Architecture is developing the 3,000-square-foot, space, which will seat around 100 with the bar.
