About Us

Sauce Magazine and SauceMagazine.com were created as a way to celebrate the restaurant scene in St. Louis and promote the art of eating well. The Web site SauceMagazine.com was launched in 1999, Sauce Magazine was introduced in 2001, and The Daily Sauce followed in 2005. Since its inception, Sauce Magazine has garnered a loyal following of food-lovers in St. Louis and across the country.

In 2008, our Prep School column was nominated for a prestigious James Beard Foundation Journalism Award in the category of Food Related Columns.

A free monthly publication, Sauce Magazine is widely distributed throughout the St. Louis area, with a 80,000 circulation as of December 2009. Content of both the Web site and the print magazine is focused on St. Louis-area dining and entertainment, with original feature articles, reviews, recipes and interviews. Sauce Magazine also covers the local bar scene and the St. Louis art world.

Sauce Magazine and SauceMagazine.com were conceived and created by the parent company Bent Mind Creative Group, LLC, co-founded by Allyson Mace and Catherine Neville. In February 2010, Allyson Mace assumed sole ownership of the company.

Editorial Policies

The Sauce Magazine mission is to provide St. Louis area residents and visitors with unbiased, complete information on the area's restaurant, bar and entertainment industry. Editorial content is not influenced by who advertises with Sauce Magazine or Saucemagazine.com.

Reviewers are never provided with complimentary food or drinks from restaurants in exchange for favorable reviews, nor are their identities as reviewers made known during their visits.
