Extra Sauce: Food Truck Friday Speed Pass Giveaway

Calling all food truck fanatics: Celebrate our best new food trucks and the start of Food Truck Friday season with a month of Sauce Speed Pass Giveaways!  Six Best New Food Trucks means six chances to win!

What’s a Speed Pass? These $10 tickets allow you to use an expedited line at one food truck during Food Truck Friday. We’re giving away 6 pairs of Speed Passes throughout May. Here’s how it works:

Staring May 4, we’ll announce the Best New Food Truck of the Day on Instagram and Twitter. Grab lunch from that truck, and while you’re there, look for the Food Truck Friday logo hidden nearby. (Hint: Check trees, benches, parking meters, etc.) Then follow these instructions:

1. Snap a photo of yourself with the logo and your meal from our Food Truck of the Day.

2. Post it to Instagram or Twitter and tag @SauceMag and #SauceFoodTruckFriday. We will reply to confirm your post.

3. Present the logo at the Sauce tent at Food Truck Friday to claim your Speed Passes.

Extra Sauce: Sauce One-up Potluck Instagram Contest

This year, our annual Guide to the Holidays is all about gift giving, goodwill … and destroying the competition at your holiday potluck. We asked six area chefs to share their go-to potluck dishes guaranteed to keep everyone talking until next year’s get together.

Now Sauce wants to know, what’s you’re one-up potluck recipe? Share a photo and description of your dish during our Sauce One-up Potluck Instagram Contest. Here’s how it works:

1. Follow @SauceMag on Instagram.

2. Snap a photo of your successful one-up potluck dish and share it on Instagram, along with a description of your creation. Be sure to tag @SauceMag and use the hashtag #SaucePotluck so we know you entered. (And yes, you can submit more than one dish if you’re really that good!)

3. Post your dish by Friday, Nov. 21 at noon. Then, we’ll choose our favorite and announce the winner, who will receive a $150 gift certificate to Dierbergs, as well as a stunning floral arrangement to decorate your Thanksgiving table.

Now start cooking and remember: humility is highly overrated!

Sauce Snow Day Cocktail Contest

The best way to enjoy a frigid winter day like this is curled up in a blanket with a cocktail in hand. This month, we’re partial to our concoction, the SA-MO2014, a twist on the classic French 75 made with local distillery Pinckney Bend’s classic tonic syrup.

So to celebrate the snow day (and to remedy cabin fever), we’re kicking off a cocktail competition on Instagram, and the winner will receive a bottle of Pinckney Bend tonic syrup.

To enter to win, first follow @saucemag on Instagram. Then, post a photo of your cocktail on Instagram @saucemag with hashtag #saucesnowday. Be sure to include the name and ingredients of your cold-weather cocktail. Then, we’ll choose our favorite and announce the winner on the blog, Facebook and Instagram. Contest lasts until 9 p.m. tonight, so get shaking!
