The Scoop: Pop-up restaurant pops up in The Lou

101311_demitasseTemporary restaurants, known as pop-up restaurants, are one of the latest trends in the culinary world. And now it looks as though this foodie fad has (kind of) hit St. Louis with the to-be-short-lived existence of Demitasse 665.

Demitasse 665 is a project by Sandy Tally, the chef behind the Demitasse underground dinners. The pop-up will be located at 665 S. Skinker Blvd., in the newly transformed basement of the old Caitlyn’s Green-Eyed Grill, and will operate for 12 evenings starting in late November. Menu No. 1 will be served from November 30 to December 3, menu No. 2 from December 7 to December 10, and menu No. 3 from December 14 to December 17. (Click here to preview all three menus).

Because diners will be seated at one communal table, seating is limited to 20 per night. Reservations are necessary and are limited to groups of 10 or 20. There is one seating per evening. Demitasse 665 will serve a 7-course tasting menu, priced at $85 per person, including wines paired with each course. Want to see what this whole pop-up thing is all about?
