The Scoop: New deli in So. Co. to offer house-roasted meats and more

October 18th 12:10pm, 2011

101811_molldelisWhen Molldeli’s opens early next week, the smell of roasted ham, turkey and beef brisket are likely to beckon a few hungry folks in South County. The new deli will be located at 11836 Tesson Ferry Road, as reported by Ian Froeb of the Riverfront Times.

Molldeli’s is a project by husband-and-wife team Ben and Vesna Moll. The menu will include sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas, appetizers and desserts as well as a selection of wine and beer. Sandwiches, explained Vesna Moll, will be the primary focus at the counter service-style deli. Look for 18 different offerings, many featuring house-smoked meats, served on bread baked by Fazio’s Bakery or as a wrap. The apps selection at Molldeli’s will include chicken strips, cheese sticks (two options: beer-battered or battered and breaded with ground tortilla chips), fried macaroni and cheese bites and t-ravs. Desserts will all be house-made and will include carrot-cake cupcakes, gooey butter cake squares, brownies and cookies.

The Molls hope that the 70-seat eatery’s proximity to nearby businesses attracts workers at lunchtime and that the deli’s arcade game room appeals to families. For diners on the go, delivery service and a carryout window will be up-and-running in November. Online ordering will soon be available, although the deli’s website, molldelis.com, has yet to launch. In the meantime, information can be found on the Molldeli’s Facebook page.
