October 18th 03:10pm, 2012
Supporters of Sapore Italian Cafe received news via email today that the restaurant would be moving to Kirkwood. Sapore, currently located at 403 Lafayette Center in Ballwin, will makes its new home in the Woodbine Center at 451 S. Kirkwood Road, in the space currently occupied by another Italian restaurant, Branica of Kirkwood.
The newsletter also stated that, “Along with our restaurant, bar and beautiful patio, Sapore will be able to host events up to 85 people in a private setting.” As noted by St. Louis Magazine’s George Mahe, Sapore owner Paul Buzzetta intends to use the neighboring Branica Wine Bar space for private events, which is similar to its present function.
An employee at Branica of Kirkwood stated that the restaurant’s management has informed them that the final day of service at the restaurant will be next Thursday, October 25, after lunch. According to the Sapore announcement, a mid-November opening is expected at the new digs.
