The Scoop: Historic Pond Inn to reopen in Wildwood
November 14th 12:11pm, 2012
The Pond Inn, a historic restaurant located in Wildwood, Mo., is about to see new life. The property, which sits at 17250 Old Manchester Road at the intersection of Pond Road, once operated as an inn and restaurant but closed some years ago due to a fire. Bethany Mehard has purchased the property with plans to bring the building back to its former glory; she hopes to reopen it in early April as a restaurant bearing its former name, Pond Inn.
The property includes the main two-story building, which will house the restaurant, as well as two additional buildings. Renovations to the main building commenced last month. Mehard, who holds a background in design and real estate, is redesigning the space herself. Construction plans also call for the addition of a 2,700-square-foot patio. One of the other buildings, an old stable, will undergo renovations in fall 2013.
Although the menu is still in the development stage, Pond Inn general manager Michael Sottile said that it would be geared around small plates, and wine would be the focus on the drink side.

Thank you to everyone for their encouragement and well wishes. The excitement that we have experienced from the neighbors and community have given my team and I the inspiration to get through all the layers of dilapidation that years of neglect have left for us!
I am working with the most brilliant and gifted designer, Carol Keeling of ” CK Interiors,” who’s show stopping work will bring life to “The Pond Inn” as never before. I have worked with Carol on several projects in the past. Her magical tallent is unsurpassed!
In November I hired the restaurants general manager, Michael Sottile, who’s experience and passion for fine food and wine will exceed expectation!
Thanks again for all of the support!
See you in the spring! Cheers!!

i am excited about the reopening, my last visit there was not good due to the broken plumbing. Will you be doing the set pricing again?

Really looking forward to a new, fun option for a place to get together in Wildwood! Would LOVE to see some Vegan options on the menu as you make plans! That would be a definite draw for myself and my family! Will watch for more updates.

Drove by this place tonight and it looks abandoned, except for the coming soon sign. Definitely not ready for an April opening — is there a revised date?
