The Scoop: Upscale food court coming to St. Louis
December 17th 07:12pm, 2012
Set to open in March 2013, Central Table Food Hall hopes to offer St. Louis residents a first-of-its-kind culinary destination. Built around a similar idea as Mario Batali’s Eataly (pictured) in New York City, the Central Table Food Hall will offer artisanal goods and seven food and drink options in one centralized location. The seven concepts are: tapas; a raw bar; a seasonal grill; a deli with salads, soups, sandwiches and charcuterie; gourmet coffee, tea and chocolate; an artisan market with prepared food to-go; and a wine and craft beer bar. This space, which is 10,000 square feet and will include seating for 200 guests along with al fresco dining, is located at 23 South Euclid Ave., in the Central West End.
Chef Cary Neff, author of Conscious Cuisine and chef Nick Martinkovic are consulting on future menus. Additionally, according to a press release, “Restaurant developer Walter McClure, former EVP/COO of Palm Restaurant Group, and a specialized team of award-winning restaurant designers, urban development planners and nationally renowned chefs are carrying out plans for the ‘Market-meets-Main Street’ restaurant and retail destination.”
