The Scoop: Cherokee Street sees opening of two restaurants this week

June 13th 01:06pm, 2013

There’s action up and down Cherokee Street this week, with doors opening at two restaurants. Table, located at 1821 Cherokee St., is now up and running in the space formerly occupied by The Stable. The restaurant, announced last December, is a project by chef Cassy Vires and her husband Josh Renbarger, co-owners of Home Wine Kitchen in Maplewood. Their restaurant No. 2 will focus on preparing creative small plates served in a communal dining setting. Vires will also offer a weekly reservation-only tasting menu at Table that is inspired by Home Wine Kitchen’s No Menu Mondays. Table is open daily – except Tuesdays – for dinner, and also offers brunch on weekends.

Another newcomer to Cherokee Street is Melt. News arrived in March that the eccentric diner would be moving from its location at 7700 Ivory Ave., in the Carondelet neighborhood, to 2712 Cherokee St. Doors opened at new space yesterday, coinciding with Melt’s one-year anniversary.
