The Scoop: Comings and goings: an “epic” arrival, Indian eats and an adios
Friday, December 2nd, 2011
Announcements of new arrivals and farewells are occurring at a frenzied pace these days. Among the latest wave of hellos and goodbyes:
As we announced back in June, Epic Pizza and Subs should open next Wednesday, according to co-owner Todd George. Look for nine specialty wood-fired pizzas (including a pizza of the day), plus hot and cold sandwiches, a variety of salads and the time-tested Italian-American apps St. Louisans have come to expect (translation: t-ravs). The small eatery, located at 1709½ Ninth St., next door to International Tap House in Soulard, will have a limited selection of desserts, and beer and wine will be available. The Epic website is still under construction, but you can follow the eatery on Twitter @EPICstlouis.
In other news, an Indian and Pakistani restaurant may be coming to University City. Ian Froeb of the Riverfront Times reported on the signage suggesting the arrival of a fast food joint serving these ethnic eats at 6800F Olive Blvd., at Ferguson Avenue.
And it’s adios to Señoritas Pique. The sister restaurant to Señor Pique – both owned by Angel Jiminez Gutierrez – closed less than a year after opening. The hat tip goes to Froeb who first had the news of the shuttered restaurant at 3730 S. Lindbergh Blvd., near East Watson Road.
