1:30pm – 2:30pm
Dan Donovan will show and discuss many of his iconic baseball photos from over 30 years of shooting for the St. Louis Cardinals. Besides capturing peak moments, Dan is well-known for his artistic approach to documenting team history. Learn how Dan shoots baseball for the team, from both technical and artistic perspectives.

As a freshman in college in the mid-1980s, Dan Donovan was exposed to photography and never looked back. He knew right away that he wanted to be a commercial photographer. One of his first clients was the St. Louis Cardinals and he is still one of the team photographers today. Dan photographs both action and feature assignments for the team.

Besides photographing baseball, Dan shoots for other clients such as Maryville University, St. Louis Community College, Washington University, BJC Health System, Circus Flora, St. Louis Convention & Visitor’s Commission and a variety of other companies, design firms and ad agencies.

Dan’s specialty is photos of people in their environment, whether it is portraits of people looking at the camera or capturing real moments on the baseball diamond or elsewhere.
