Snow Milkshake

Snow shakes are superfast to prepare. Mom made ours by blending the snow with milk, sugar and vanilla extract. She also used an egg, perhaps as a thickening and coloring agent, or maybe out of habit because she often baked. If you want to avoid the raw egg, bananas do just as good a job of bulking it up. Substituting some chocolate syrup for the vanilla transforms it into an extra-tasty treat.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh, clean snow
¼ cup milk or soymilk
2 Tbsp. sugar
½ tsp. vanilla

Preparation

• Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a large, old-fashioned soda fountain glass with a plastic straw.
