Hunger for More 2014

Tues., March 4 to Sun., April 20
Participating St. Louis restaurants

Eat out at a favorite St. Louis restaurant and support Isaiah 58 Ministries in its effort to fight local hunger and poverty. Each week, participating restaurants will donate a percentage of one day’s sales to the nonprofit, which serves more than 600 St. Louis-area families a month. The event kicks off with a portion of local bars' beverage sales benefiting the cause.

Mama Josephine’s is also donating 10 percent from sales of its popular chicken and dumplings Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during Lent.

Hunger for More is an initiative to raise awareness and engage the community around the issues of hunger and poverty right in their own neighborhoods. Proceeds will help benefit more than 600 families in the St. Louis area.

Saint Louis Fashion Week

ALIVE Magazine presents Saint Louis Fashion Week, featuring spring and summer lines from local and national designers. The three days of events include a spring fashion show at the Saint Louis Galleria, a summer and swimwear runway show featuring Viktor Luna, and designer Rebecca Minkoff makes an appearance at Saks Fifth Avenue. St. Louis Earth Day Festival

Sat., April 27 - 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Muny, Forest Park, St. Louis

This free event teaches festival-goers about sustainable products and services offered by local businesses and organizations and introduces area nonprofits that share the mission of Earth Day. Local musical acts and performance arts will be on hand, as well as hands-on educational activities. Local, organic and vegetarian dining options from diverse cuisines will also be available.

Microfest Beer Festival

Fri., May 2 - 6 to 10 p.m., to Sat., May 3 - Noon to 4 p.m.; 6 to 10 p.m.
Upper Muny parking lot, Forest Park, St. Louis

St. Louis Microfest attendees sample international and craft beers at three different sessions during the two-day festival. The weekend's events also include live music, silent auction, food, and live brewer and chef demonstrations. Profits from the event benefit Lift For Life Gym. Tickets available online.

St. Louis City Hall, 1200 Market St., St. Louis

Honorary chairpersons Mayor Francis Slay and Monietta Slay, LGBT-supporters, community leaders, politicians and Missourians from all backgrounds celebrate, mingle and indulge on food, cocktails and entertainment. The event raise funds and awareness of PROMO’s effect on the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of Missourians. The night includes a VIP reception featuring music, novelty acts and appetizers, followed by an upscale party with a DJ providing the dance beat, open bars, special late-night treats and more. Tickets will be available online March 21.

Schlafly Art Outside

The 11th annual Schlafly Art Outside is a three-day juried alternative art fair featuring work from more than 50 St. Louis-area artists at Schlafly Bottleworks.
