Grimm’s Tree Brewing to open in Labadie

A family brewery will come to the countryside when brothers Andy and Rob Grimm open Grimm’s Tree Brewing in Labadie in early summer 2016. Located on 17 acres at 1029 Thiebes Road, just off Highway 100, the Grimms will build the 3,200-square-foot building from the ground up. Once complete, the facility will have a 15-barrel brew house, cellar, tap room and beer garden.

The Grimm brothers have been homebrewing for more than 10 years and plan to offer a variety of styles that appeal to a wide audience. While the exact list is still being finalized, suds lovers can look for something hoppy, a session beer, a barrel-aged brew and a Belgian style to start.

“We like all shapes and forms of beer,” said co-owner Andy Grimm. “We want to have something everyone will enjoy. We also want to do limited releases throughout the year and have an evolving menu.”

The brothers plan to offer food onsite, and the tap room will seat 46 with additional capacity outside in the beer garden.

Having searched for property for more than a year, the Grimms – who have family ties in Labadie – decided on the rural acreage in part for the setting. “We wanted to bring a brewery to an area that doesn’t have a lot of nearby breweries available,” Grimm said. “We have an environment that is more of a natural setting, and we like getting people out into nature and enjoy beer.”
