Snax Gastrobar closes doors in Lindenwood Park

Snax Gastrobar has closed. The last night of service for the restaurant, located at 3500 Watson Road in Lindenwood Park, was Saturday, Aug. 25.

Robust Wine Bar owners Stanley and Arlene Maminta Browne opened Snax in March 2017, taking the place of previous tenant J. McArthur’s American Kitchen. Sauce reviewed Snax in July 2017.

The announcement was made Sunday, Aug. 26, via Facebook:

“It is with great sadness we inform you that yesterday was Snax Gastrobar's last night of service. We have so much gratitude and respect for the South City and Lindenwood Park residents who welcomed us to an amazing community. Unfortunately, despite our passion and commitment, we were unable to sustain the volume we needed to fully continue operations. Our hearts are heavy, and we know this chapter of our story must end, but we have no regrets for the friends we made along the way. We will miss you all.”

“I can’t put my finger on why it didn’t succeed,” Stanley Browne said. “We delivered a concept we thought worked for the neighborhood, and we just didn’t get the traffic.”

Browne said he has some other projects in the works, though he declined to give any details. He said in the immediate future, he’ll focus on the Webster location of Robust, which celebrates its 11th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 2.
