Farm to You Market will close in Washington, Missouri

Farm To You Market at 5025 Old Highway 100 in Washington, Mo., will turn out the lights for good on Sunday, Sept. 2., after two-and-a-half years in business. The cafe at the market closed on Monday, Aug. 27.

President Katie Geisert said the reason for the closure is simple. “We just didn’t get enough customers in the door,” she said.

Geisert, who co-owned the business with her husband, farmer Todd Geisert, opened the market in April 2016 with the goal offering produce, eggs, meat, dry goods and more sourced from vendors in a 200-mile radius.

She said Geisert Farms will continue operating as usual. For its final week, the market will be open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
