Don your upscale duds for the free Music & Wine Festival slated for 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Carondelet Plaza in downtown Clayton.

During this elegant evening, enjoy vino for purchase from Augusta Winery, Montelle Winery, Balducci Vineyards, Noboleis Vineyards, The Ritz Carlton and Edg-Clif Vineyard, Winery & Brewery.

“They’re all bringing their top-of-the-line wines, from sweet whites to dry reds and even some rosés,” said Kristin Bryant, events and marketing specialist for the city of Clayton. “Augusta and Montelle are bringing their vidal blanc, a dry white, and then they’ll have the Montelle Himmelswein, a sweet white that’s award-winning.”

Although wine is the focus of the festival, there will also be a selection of beer and cocktails available. Once you have a glass or two, grab some grub from some of Clayton’s finest restaurants, including Kingside Diner, 801 Chophouse, Clementine’s Creamery and more. Menus are still in the works, but Bryant said Clementine’s will offer its famous gooey butter cake ice cream and a boozy pink champagne sorbet, and the Ritz Carlton will serve braised chicken tacos and mojitos.

Dance to live music from the Usual Suspects, Midnight Piano Band and Kim Massie, and enjoy spins by DJ Micro between sets. And be on the lookout for live painters showing off their skills during the event.
