Global Quesadilla Co. is slated to open in the Central West End in late April

St. Louis-based Global Quesadilla Co., which has locations in Creve Coeur and Chesterfield, is opening a third spot in the Central West End later this month. The restaurant will be located at 4497 Forest Park Ave. and is perfect for the fast-paced life in the Central West End.

The new location is about 1,500 square feet and will feature two pickup windows ideal for the carryout and delivery service models. Although there is no indoor seating, there will be patio tables available outside with seating for 25 just in time for the warmer weather. “We just want to serve the people of the Central West End safely,” said owner Ben Reeder.

Reeder, who has 25 years of restaurant experience around town including at Fitz’s, said, “All the flavors for the quesadillas were inspired from all across the globe, which is what inspired the name in the first place.” The menu will be the same across all three restaurants, including quesadillas, nachos, wraps and salads.

Some of their most popular dishes include the SantaFe, which has grilled chicken, fire-roasted corn and black beans, bacon and pico de gallo, along with cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses served in a flour tortilla; and the Memphis with sweet barbecue sauce, pulled pork, bacon and red onions with cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses on a flour tortilla. Another popular quesadilla is the St. Louis, which consists of a Parmesan-tomato sauce spread on a flour tortilla with pepperoni, Italian sausage, Provel and mozzarella. “It’s like pizza but better,” Reeder said. The Greek comes with black olives, tomatoes, red onions, pepperoncini, cucumbers and feta.

There is no liquor license, but the company works with Excel Bottling Co. to offer a variety of soda flavors.

The new spot will offer an urban feel, according to Reeder. “People can walk up to the window, grab what they want, and sit at one of the patio tables,” he said. “It travels well, it’s a great mobile food, it’s just as delicious at home as it is in the store, and we can hope to see this as often as you see a pizza place on the corner.”
