Crab N Go, a new Cajun food spot opens in Overland

Crab N Go, located at 10041 Page Ave. in Overland, is a new Cajun food spot housed in the former Dollar Express Chinese Restaurant. The restaurant, which opened on Aug. 28, offers Cajun food options like seasoned crab and potatoes with signature seasonings, shrimp, corn on the cob, and more.

Taking inspiration from their popular Sushi Ai restaurants, owners Stephanie Sun and Slim Siu have added some twists to standard Cajun fare. For example, fried rice is available with a combination of shrimp and crawfish as well as more familiar protein options like beef or chicken.

Offering different proteins on the menu was a priority. “Not everyone eats seafood, so we have chicken and beef on our menu,” Siu said. Additionally, diners will find vegetable offerings like Cajun edamame as well as broccoli and carrots served with their seafood offerings in addition to the traditional potatoes and corn. "We actually offer vegetables such as broccoli and carrots, whereas other Cajun restaurants in our immediate surroundings don't give those options with seafood,” Siu said.

“We chose this location because this way, we will be in the industrial area,” Siu said. “The nearest seafood places don’t open for lunch, whereas we do.” Lunch specials are all priced under ten dollars and are available Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

While the owners could have gone the franchising route, it would have cost more money, according to Siu, plus they already have a trained staff. “Our staff has worked in the restaurant before, so we know what to do when running a restaurant seamlessly,” Siu said.

Crab N Go is open Tuesday through Sunday; 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m for carryout or dining in (while tables are available where customers can sit and eat, table service is not available). They accept orders over the phone, online or in person.
