The Wine Café is now open on Main Street in St. Charles

The Wine Café, a cozy spot to grab wine and eats, opened in March at 703 S. Main St. in St. Charles.

Co-owned by Tiara and Terrence Curry, the Wine Café fuses Tiara’s passion for wine with Terrence’s background in the food industry, with carefully curated menus and pairing options. Made-to-order charcuterie boards include assorted cheeses, nuts, fruits and spreads, with options for solo diners, “buddy boards” for two to three and a deluxe pretzel board for large groups. The café also offers sandwiches, flatbreads and wraps, including a specialty grilled cheese sandwich with sriracha and honey on sourdough, a grilled shrimp fajita wrap and build-your-own pizzas. Wines are hand-selected by Tiara and Terrence and hail from local spots like McKelvey Vineyards as well as renowned wineries in Oregon, California and New Zealand.

“We really try to provide a unique mix of wines and foods,” Tiara added. “Terrence is more of a red wine drinker and I’m more of a white wine drinker, so he picks the reds and I pick the whites. When it comes to the food menu, I bring in my ideas and he does the cooking. We pretty much do everything 50/50.”

The couple originally conceptualized the café in 2020 before landing on the place on Main Street to bring their idea for a combined wine bar and restaurant to life. Fresh flooring, painting and a bathroom remodel transformed the former retail store into the cozy café it is today, but Tiara said the property instantly felt like home. With 900 square feet, the indoor space fits about 28, while the 1,500-square-foot outdoor patio seats 40.

The Wine Café is open from noon to 6 p.m. every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, from noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays and from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturdays.
