BLK MKT Eats is opening a Maplewood location in early 2023

BLK MKT Eats will open a new location in Maplewood in early 2023. Co-owners Kati Fahrney and Ron Turigliatto have previewed some early details about their second restaurant, which will take shape at 7356 Manchester Road over the months ahead.

The 1,400-square-foot space, formerly occupied by Las Palmas, is larger than BLK MKT Eats’ original restaurant at 9 S. Vandeventer Ave. in the Central West End. The owners said the larger footprint will allow for more dine-in seating. Parking access at the new location will also be more convenient, thanks chiefly to the lot on the back end of the restaurant. However, the Maplewood restaurant will share a similar look and feel to the original BLK MKT Eats.

“We heard the needs of our guests over the years, and we wanted to make sure to give the people what they want,” a statement from Fahrney and Turigliatto said. “We are currently working on the layout, so we do not have a seating number as of yet, but we can confidently say there will be more than our current location, which wasn’t hard.” Renovations will proceed with Patrick Jugo of JugoPlus Architects working on the buildout for the new restaurant.

Fahrney and Turigliatto also hinted that updates to the menu – known for its burrito-sized sushi rolls, poke bowls and nachos – are in the works, but no more details are available at present.

“The BLK MKT Eats co-founders are elated to be a new member of the Maplewood community,” the statement continued. “We have felt the warm welcome already and are eager to bring our concept to the area.”
