It is that time of the year again as the Alton Food Truck Festival will make its return to the Liberty Bank Amphitheater at 1 Riverfront Drive from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The eighth annual festival will host 20 different food trucks from around the St. Louis area including, Sugarfire Smoke House, The Sweet Divine, Pig on a Wing and Tuk Tuk Thai

“There’s going to be a wide variety of food, and there’s going to be something for everybody,” said Dan Herkert, chair of the Alton Amphitheater Commission.

Looking for a couple of vegetarian options? Doughboy's Wood Fired Pizza has you covered with their veggie pizza. If you're in the mood for some comfort food, try the brisket mac or fried green tomatoes at Farmtruk.

“Get here early and get in line,” said Herkert, stressing the fact that this event has averaged anywhere between 4,000 to 6,000 guests throughout the years and the lines get long.

The band Groovethang will also be playing live music during the event.

“It's just a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon on a beautiful riverfront,” said Herkert.

This is a free event, so come find a picnic table or bring some lawn chairs and enjoy amazing food and live music right on the banks of the Mississippi River.
