Friday, March 10

6:30–8:30 pm

Following a panel discussion on collecting and exhibiting modern African art at 4:30 pm, join us to celebrate the opening of African Modernism in America. Organized by the American Federation of Arts and the Fisk University Galleries, this is the first major traveling exhibition to examine the complex connections among African artists and patrons, artists, and cultural organizations in the United States, amid the interlocking histories of civil rights, decolonization, and the Cold War.

Free and open to the public. Enjoy a "cash" bar (credit and debit cards only).
