The Scoop: Seoul Taco truck to feature Korean barbecue and Mexican fusion dishes

071811_SeoulTacoThese days, it seems like hardly a week can go by without the announcement of a new mobile food biz. Today the news comes from Seoul Taco, a new food truck which will specialize in a fusion of Korean barbecue and Mexican cuisines.

Once Seoul hits the streets, business partners David Choi and Andy Heck will serve up tacos filled with bulgogi (marinated steak), spicy pork, chicken or tofu and topped with a Korean salad mix, green onions, a house-made sauce, crushed sesame seeds and a lime wedge; gogi bowls of rice with a choice of meat, along with fresh vegetables, a fried egg, sesame oil and a spicy hot pepper paste; steak, pork and chicken quesadillas that stand out thanks to a special mix of Seoul sauces; and a variation on nachos made with fried wonton chips. The truck will also offer house-made pot stickers, egg rolls, crab rangoon and freshly cut fries. Among beverages, Seoul Taco will sell Milkis, a brand of carbonated flavored milk beverages that’s popular in Korea.

Seoul Taco will make its debut this Friday at the second Food Truck Friday. After that, Choi and Heck expect to serve up lunch fare regularly near Barnes-Jewish Hospital in the Central West End and in downtown St. Louis. On weekend evenings, they’re also hoping to serve hungry crowds along Washington Avenue.

    Awesome, can’t wait to try it out! I know these Korean BBQ Taco trucks have been really popular in bigger cities.

    I had a korean BBQ taco in NYC and it was amazing!! SOO glad that they made one here!! can’t wait to try it out!! =)
