On a recent visit to Harvest, The Scoop was informed that chef-owner Nick Miller’s sometimes right-hand man Brendan Noonan (pictured, left) hadn’t been in the kitchen since late spring when he left for a summer-long trip to England. Noonan had been working at the Richmond Heights restaurant since mid-June of 2010, but earlier this year, he made his intentions known that he wanted to open a weekends only, tasting menu concept called Fixe with friend and fellow chef Wes Johnson (pictured, right). The Scoop caught up with Noonan for an update on his plans.
According to Noonan, he and Johnson are negotiating on an undisclosed space in the city. If all goes well, the pair hopes to open Fixe by Valentine’s Day. In the meantime, Noonan is dividing his time between helping former Harvest owner Steve Gontram with his new burger joint, 5 Star Burgers, and assisting Johnson at Kota, one of Steve Smith’s eateries that Johnson is overseeing.
