This month marks the first Sauce Food Truck Friday of the season, as well as Sauce’s Pig & Whiskey event, plus Cinco de Mayo celebrations, a Star Wars outdoor movie experience, a cocktail crawl, a chance to explore aspects of Chinese culture and a lot more.

Calling all sports fans, test your knowledge of St. Louis sports with a trivia night and a chance to meet a legendary Cardinals player. The trivia questions will cover St. Louis sports teams including the Cardinals, Blues, St. Louis City SC and more. Trivia begins at 7 p.m., with the Ozzie Smith meet and greet happening from 6 to 8 p.m. The trivia is free to play and guests 21 and up will get free samples of Backflip All-Star Craft Cocktails.

The St. Louis Chinese American community has put together a cultural festival of performances, food and interactive experiences for this year’s annual celebration. This weekend-long event will feature performances by a nine-person acrobatics team from Northern China, along with music and opportunities to learn about Chinese history, all set against the backdrop of the late-spring blooms at the botanical garden. Take part in a high-society Derby experience like no other on the eighth-floor rooftop at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis. The afternoon event promises attendees exquisite dining, signature cocktails, high-fashion runway shows and thrilling race-day entertainment. There will also be prizes for best-dressed gentleman and lady, along with a best hat award. The experience ranges from a VIP table package, to general admission. Star Wars fans meet up at Westport Plaza on May 4, also affectionately known as “May the Fourth Be With You” to devotees of the popular film series, because this is your chance to watch Star Wars: A New Hope outdoors, under the stars. This Cinco de Mayo weekend, head to Frontier Park, situated along the Missouri Riverfront in St. Charles for STL Taco Fest. The two-day event features live music, drinks, contests and, of course, a delicious selection of tacos and other food from area vendors. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with festivities happening around the city. On Saturday, May 3, Molly’s in Soulard will have a menu featuring Mexican food, margarita specials and live DJs. This event is free and the fun kicks off at 10 a.m. and the celebration continues until 11 p.m. On Monday, May 5, Delmar Loop will host its annual Taco Crawl from 4 to 8 p.m. The event will see the neighborhood come alive with the sounds, flavors and energy that make it one of the most culturally diverse dining destinations in St. Louis. Attendees can purchase a $35 ticket, and receive five taco tickets and one margarita ticket, redeemable at participating restaurants.

The beloved Pig & Whiskey festival returns for a weekend of amazing barbecue, craft cocktails, whiskey and 4 Hands beers, as well as a diverse vendor list and live music from bands such as Blind Melon, SmashMouth, Quiet Riot and more. Sauce Magazine’s first Food Truck Friday of the season will feature more than 20 food trucks, Food Truck Friday sponsor 4 Hands Brewing Co. and other local beverage vendors, along with live music by Ghost Kitchen. For one evening only, businesses along South Grand Boulevard, from Arsenal to Humphrey streets will offer cocktail specials including a Caipirinha at Brasilia. This classic Brazilian cocktail of fresh-cut limes muddled with a touch of sugar and cachaca, Brazilian rum and shaken with ice. This self-guided crawl doesn’t require a ticket, and attendees are encouraged to start anywhere along the route and to try both mocktails and alcoholic beverages at area businesses in the South Grand area.

The annual Memorial Day tradition is back again in 2025. The free, family-friendly event happens on Cherokee Street’s historic Antique Row and features opportunities to peruse and shop local stores.

To celebrate the arrival of spring and biergarten season, Das Bevo is hosting its fourth-annual Maifest event. The two-day festivities include beer from Urban Chestnut, food and live music performed by Waterloo German Band, The Wurst Bavarian Band and others.
