040710_ecoexpoThis weekend, nab a nosh while you learn about living more sustainably at the Saint Louis Science Center‘s second annual Eco Expo.

The free event’s displays, booths and activities will include demonstrations from L’École Culinaire and Onesto Pizza & Trattoria. It will run from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 10 and 11, outside the James S. McDonnell Planetarium in Forest Park.

“L’École Culinaire is at 1 p.m. each day, and Onesto is at 3:30 p.m. each day on our main stage,” noted Beth McClure, the center’s press contact. “Vito Racanelli Jr. … will be presenting from Onesto, [and] chef Damon Payne from L’École. Both will focus on using locally grown ingredients and provide tips on where to buy, what to look for and so forth.”

Racanelli, Onesto’s chef and owner, will also be tossing pizza, McClure added. “Both [Onesto and L’École Culinaire] will provide samples,” she said. “Onesto will also have a booth on the exhibition floor where they’ll sample, as will Chipotle, Edible Arrangements and Eckert’s.”

For more information on the presentations in specific and the event in general, phone 314.289.4424 or visit the center’s Web site or that of co-sponsor EcoLifeSTL.
