Every once in a while we all need a good sugar high. To really get spinning from sweet treats, head to Carousel Chocolates and More, a chocolate retailer located in O’Fallon. Owners Greg and Barbara Hill founded the company in 2004, operating a store in Chesterfield Mall until 2007. The company then sat idle for the last few years until the couple decided to reopen the retail business late last year at 127 O’Fallon Commons Drive on Highway K, just north of Highway N.
Approximately 40 percent of the chocolate products at the store are made in-house, while popcorn – try the chocolate-covered caramel corn – as well as non-edible gifts like games and books for kids of all ages are also available. Among the best sellers are turtles (choose from milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate), Heavenly Hash, dipped Oreos and chocolate-dipped Twinkies. The Hills began making the choco-coated sponge cake filled with creamy icing on account of a special request from a customer, and now they can barely keep this snazzed-up snack in stock.
Get your sugar fix at the O’Fallon store Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
