I love apple pie and I love ice cream, so to me, a dessert that literally blends the two so that you get a bit of each in every bite is pure genius. The apple pie concrete at Ted Drewes does just that. Velvety smooth vanilla custard is combined with a piece of Lubely’s apple pie that’s mashed, topped with whipped cream and served to you, a very lucky diner. I guess it’s more like vanilla custard à la apple pie, since the custard is more of the star here. Not that it matters. This ice cream treat is fresh, fruity and rich through and through, from the custard to the dough. If you like apple pie à la mode, you’ll love this.
