Wasabi Management Co. Inc., which owns the Japanese restaurant chain Wasabi, recently announced its acquisition of SanSai Japanese Grill’s three St. Louis locations. Together, Wasabi and SanSai will employ over 200 people in the St. Louis area restaurants.
Wasabi, which was named the favorite for Japanese/sushi cuisine in this year’s Readers’ Choice Poll, among other years, was founded in St. Louis is 2003. The company now has four locations in St. Louis and eight locations total.
In a press release, John Kim, CEO of Clayton-based Wasabi said, “Our addition of SanSai allows us to further consolidate our supply chain, implement best practice initiatives and reach out to a wider customer base, thereby enhancing our customers’ dining experience.”
