A beloved Ferguson restaurant is seeking community support after a fire caused extensive damage, forcing its temporary closure.

Drake’s Place Restaurant & BBQ Smokehouse at 701 S. Florissant Road, a staple in the community for over a decade and a past feature on the Food Network, suffered a fire on Jan. 16. While no injuries were reported, the damage amounts to thousands of dollars.

With insurance coverage falling short, the restaurant has launched a GoFundMe campaign.

“Beyond serving great food, Drake’s Place takes pride in training young people in hospitality, teaching them skills for excellence, and opportunities for a brighter future. Now, Drake’s Place Restaurant & BBQ Smokehouse needs your help to rebuild,” the fundraiser description reads.

For those looking to support Drake’s Place, donations can be made through their official GoFundMe page.
