Amy Guo, owner of Sando Shack and a recent guest on The Sauce podcast, knows her way around a great meal. Since opening her Japanese-inspired sandwich shop, she’s built a following for her creative sandos. When she’s not at the restaurant, these are the St. Louis spots she keeps coming back to.

ChiliSpot
“The dishes they have are very authentic and the flavors are spicy and amazing, they have a lot of the traditional Chinese dishes that I grew up with.”

Crafted.
“Perfect neighborhood spot, walking distance from my house. They have a good happy hour menu which is wallet-friendly, and the food is always good with their rotating menu. It’s a great place to sit outside with a sangria on a nice day.”

Pho Long
“My favorite pho place in St. Louis, their oxtail pho is delicious and the broth flavor is unmatched. Also love their spring rolls.”

Saturn Lounge
“This place has the cozy/chill vibe down. My go-to place lately for drinks and apps. They have a large collection of records behind the bar that’s fun to look at and listen to. Food is always good and they have really good toasted raviolis.”

Vicini Pastaria Cafe & Market
“This place is beautiful inside. Even the bathroom is gorgeous. It’s a small space with a bunch of lovely antique goods spread throughout the restaurant. The food is so fresh- the Italian sandwiches are amazing, and the pasta tastes like the real deal. Hidden gem for sure.”
