When medical cannabis was first legalized in Missouri, the common advice from budtenders was to “start low and go slow.” But even then, a 10-milligram dose was often the baseline recommendation. As a longtime cannabis connoisseur, I assumed that sounded reasonable — until I realized that, for me, 5 milligrams is usually plenty. In fact, there are times when just 2.5 milligrams is the perfect starting point. You can always take more, but it’s a lot harder to walk it back once you’ve gone too far.
