1. Next time you’re out for tacos, skip the chips and try something new. This month, Mission Taco Joint is offering a not-so-secret secret menu item: made-to-order chicharrones for only $6 a basket. The spicy fried pork skins are made with chili powder seasoning and are served with a lime wedge. (Pro tip: They go great with queso.) This keto-friendly app features a bold, flavorful crunch that satisfies more than your average tortilla chips.
2. Red Oak Biscuits may be moving to Cherokee, but there’s still time to enjoy some scratch-made goodness at its location downtown. This month, snack on its Lit Biscuit for only $9. This fluffy, buttermilk biscuit, topped with chicken, cheddar, ranch, hot sauce and crushed Red Riplets, may be the most St. Louis thing since toasted ravioli.
3. You can still eat out on Mondays and keep it low-key. Check out movie night at Gooseberries. On most Mondays, the South City restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat pizza and salad buffet for only $9. Get there early; the buffet is available from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and gets pretty busy. Before the movie, peruse Gooseberries’ collection of board games and make some new friends.
4. Need a good cocktail? Celebrate autumn at The Pat Connolly Tavern with its new fall menu. Sip the Candied Cranberry, made with cranberry vodka, rhubarb and 1220 Artisan Spirits Origin gin for $9, or try the Figgy Fizz, made with fig-plum syrup, vodka, black walnut bitters and a rosemary garnish for $8.
