More than 80 artists will take over the Delmar Loop on Saturday, May 16, for the second annual Flowering Artist Festival, a one-day celebration packed with live art demonstrations, music, food, and hands-on activities throughout the district.

Running from 1 to 8 p.m., the festival marks the evolution of the former Budding Artists Festival, expanding into a larger community-wide event designed to spotlight artists at every stage of their creative journey, from emerging talent to established names. Visitors can expect artwork spanning a wide range of styles and mediums, along with opportunities to watch artists create in real time.

Featured live demonstrations will include work from Terry Hinkle, Chris Mouser, Nella Baduini, Bryan Walsh, Ben Angelly, Beth Robinson and Arleana Holtzmann, along with a live glass blowing showcase.

The festival will once again coincide with the annual Mural Festival, bringing a new large-scale public artwork to the neighborhood behind Fitz’s. This year’s mural will be created by St. Louis artist ColorTripz, whose bold, color-splashed work explores themes of Black culture, feminism, and social justice. Williams was named St. Louis Artist of the Year in 2024 by the St. Louis Arts and Entertainment Awards.

Another returning feature is the festival’s mannequin project, which transforms recycled and refurbished materials from local businesses into imaginative public art installations displayed throughout the Loop.

Families can also stop by the Kids Corner, where organizations including Stay Good Studios, Artists First, and The Magic House will host interactive creative activities for children.

Live entertainment will run throughout the day, including DJ sets from DJ SheBeatz and performances by Story Stitchers and Ballet 314, along with sets from local acts Of Monarchs, The Remedy, The Bishops, Red & Black Brass Band and The Mighty Pines.

“The Flowering Artist Festival is blooming into a vibrant, can’t-miss celebration,” said Renau Bozarth, owner of Artisans in the Loop, in a statement. “What began as the Budding Artists Festival has blossomed into a full-scale experience filled with live entertainment, interactive activities, stunning photo moments, and incredible art.”Additional details, including performance schedules and street closure information, are available at Visit The Loop.
