Coyote Time kicks off September 10th
The citywide exhibition runs Sept. 10 through Dec. 12 and brings more than 50 artist projects to sites across the St. Louis region. The Carriage House gives visitors a home base for it all, with food, drinks, music, bike rentals, merchandise and programming planned throughout the exhibition.
There’s a new place to eat, drink and hang out in Grand Center this fall, and it’s arriving just in time for one of St. Louis’ biggest arts events.
Counterpublic is opening the Carriage House, a new visitor hub behind its headquarters at 3733 Washington Blvd. that will serve as equal parts gathering place, cafe and jumping-off point for exploring Counterpublic 2026: Coyote Time.

And yes, there’s plenty for food and drink people to get excited about.
Chef Enoch Simpson is taking over the food
Counterpublic has tapped chef Enoch Simpson and eatoutside to lead the Carriage House’s food program.
Simpson has created a seasonal menu built around ingredients sourced from local farms, with dishes including grilled tofu noodle salad and lemon crepe cake.
The local lineup extends well beyond the kitchen. Drinks and products from St. Louis favorites including 4 Hands Brewing Co., First Crack Coffee, Fitz’s, Confluence Kombucha, Big Heart Tea Co. and Flourish Farmstead will also be featured at the space.
In other words, you could come for the art and very easily stay for lunch.
Saturdays are for Carriage House Radio
The Carriage House will also have its own soundtrack.
Beginning Sept. 19, Carriage House Radio will bring rotating St. Louis DJs to the space every Saturday. Three DJs will each play two-hour sets from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., turning the Counterpublic courtyard into a weekly daytime hang throughout the fall.
The sets will also be livestreamed for anyone who can’t make it in person.
Grab a bike and explore the exhibition
The idea behind the Carriage House goes beyond creating another destination in Grand Center. Counterpublic wants it to be a starting point for seeing the city.
Bikes from Big Muddy Adventures will be available to rent from the Carriage House for half- and full-day rides, making it possible to explore Counterpublic installations throughout St. Louis on two wheels. Counterpublic also recommends using the Great Rivers Greenway network to connect exhibition sites, including the Brickline Greenway between the Mississippi Riverfront and Grand Center.

Counterpublic 2026: Coyote Time opens Sept. 10 and runs through Dec. 12, with projects stretching from the Mississippi Riverfront and The Ville to the International Institute of St. Louis, Grand Center and beyond.
