As the weather warms up and the sun has extended its hours, St. Louisans are flocking to the outdoors for exercise and vitamin D. Some are bringing their furry friends along too, and all this walking (or running, if that’s your thing!) can ramp up an appetite. Thankfully, there are plenty of dog-friendly food options within walking distance of some of your favorite parks. Whether you’re bringing your own four-legged companion or like the idea of running into one, enjoy man’s best friend and some grub at these spots.

Park Avenue Coffee These local air-roasters have four locations, and the original is catty-corner to Lafayette Park. This cafe lets customers bring their leashed furry friends both inside the lobby and onto the gated back patio. Humans can choose from coffee and tea options, as well as a bakery display and multiple flavors of gooey butter cake. Pro tip: Ask about their off-menu syrups to mix-up your drink, and don’t forget to ask the baristas for a pup cup. 1919 Park Ave., St. Louis, 314.621.4020, parkavenuecoffee.com Credit: photo by Riley Hansen
