The second Sauce Food Truck Friday of the season will take place at Tower Grove Park this Friday, June 9, and features the return of Yemanja Brazil’s truck, which hasn’t partaken in the event since pre-pandemic. Here are some of the trucks that’ll park it this week:
You can expect build-your-own burgers with a plethora of toppings, as well as a mushroom Swiss burger, a breakfast burger, and the eponymous Angie’s Burger, featuring a mixed patty of beef, bacon, Budweiser, cheese and seasonings, which won Budweiser’s “Bud and Burgers” national competition.
Known for their taco platters with two to four tacos a plate, Cha Cha Chow is providing a plethora of protein, including pork verde, Yadi chicken, and even curried sweet potato as a vegetarian option. Each platter comes with your choice of side, which can be street corn, chips and salsa, or seasoned fries.
This Memphis-style barbecue menu keeps it savory and simple, serving pulled pork, smoked chicken, and beef brisket sandwiches, with coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans as side options.
With 70 popsicle flavors, Pete’s Pops is serving classic flavors like strawberry lemonade, orange creamsicle, and cookies and cream, along with their own unique, more obscure flavors, such as chocolate-covered potato chip, pear goat cheese, and rhubarb buttermilk.
A Food Truck Friday staple, Seoul Taco’s special for this event will be Korean popcorn chicken tossed honey-gochujang sauce topped with sesame seeds. They’ll also have their popular tacos, burritos, quesadillas and gogi bowls, with choice of chicken, spicy pork, Bulgogi steak, and tofu as protein. Sides include potstickers, kimchi slaw and kimchi fried rice. Jarritos sodas will also be served.
Called the Brasil Express, Yemanja Brasil’s truck will be serving up some famous national Brazilian dishes, including both feijoada de ogum and yucca fries, as well as shrimp and beef empanadas and homemade pork tamales.
In addition to the food trucks, there’s a great variety of beverages on offer, including frozen drinks from Narwhal’s Crafted, along with beer from Schlafly and 4 Hands Brewing Co., plus wine from Noboleis Vineyards. Russo & Co. will perform live music.
