Open Concept in the Grove Credit: Google Maps

After five years operating in St. Louis, first on Cherokee Street and later at 4130 Manchester Ave. in the Grove neighborhood of St. Louis, Open Concept announced on social media that it has closed for good.

Known for its all-you-can-drink business model, the bar posted the following statement:

“We’ve served our last drink. We’ve had a good run. We love all of you. Unfortunately, we have to close our doors. After 5 strong years we are unable to provide the experience our customers deserve and it is best that we say goodbye today,” the post states.

“We were hoping for a last hoorah party, but our bathroom toilets had plumbing issues last night during service and that was the last sign we needed (we cannot be open without working bathrooms). Several St. Louisans have shown interest in buying our business over the past 9 months, and none of them pulled the trigger.”

“Therefore, we find ourselves in the same place as many other spots in StL; a time to move on to the next chapter. Cheers to all who opened our doors and who opened your minds to our new concept. Open Concept is now permanently closed.”

I suppose we’ll have to go back to paying for our drinks the old-fashioned way: one at a time.
