It’s a gloomy day for Cherokee Street watering hole ArtBar Saint Louis. Owner Tom Halaska announced on his personal Facebook page today, March 10, that the 2-year-old establishment would shutter on March 31.
“We weren’t able to sustain the business,” Halaska said. “We had enormous support from the community, brought in new people and had beautiful regulars.”
ArtBar opened doors at 2732 Cherokee St., in April 2014. Sauce reviewed the art-focused bar in April 2015.
Halaska said he is grateful to those who supported ArtBar and will keep the festive atmosphere alive until the end of the month. “We will party until we turn the lights off,” he said. “I want to thank the community for all their support. I’m proud of all we’ve been able to accomplish in our two years.”
