Beer geeks might want to pay special attention to what’s brewing over at The Stable Sunday, Nov. 21. That’s when the South City brewhouse, distillery and eatzzeria will tap all three varietals of the Founders Breakfast Stout.
The Breakfast of Breakfasts will feature the original Founders Breakfast Stout, brewed with coffee, oats, and chocolate; Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout, which is the same stuff, only aged in oak bourbon barrels; and the rare Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout, aged in barrels that held both whiskey and maple syrup. The Canadian stout has routinely garnered top ratings from critics and Web sites such as beeradvocate.com and local beer blog STLHops.com.
These seasonal, limited-batch stouts are elixirs of sweet life to serious beer lovers – they will sell out quickly. The Breakfast of Breakfasts runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until the barrels run dry. Check out the Stable’s indulgent Sunday brunch menu, too, featuring Elvis Toast – French bread dredged in cinnamon egg custard, pan fried, and topped with peanut butter, bananas and bacon; Cajun biscuits and gravy; and the popular Basket of Bacon.
