Always bragging that your homemade sandwiches are better than any you can buy? Here’s your chance to prove it (and make some serious bucks). That’s right; Panera Bread’s Sandwich Showdown is back. Now through October 6, visit tlc.com/Panera and create a new sandwich using Panera’s online sandwich-builder tool. (We tried it – it’s really fun.) Once you make your sandwich, add a short personal story behind the recipe and your entry is all set.
The contest started a few years ago at Taste of St. Louis and then launched last year area-wide. The 2011 winner from Marthasville, Mo., beat out 800 entrants and won $2,500 cash and a spot on St. Louis-area Panera menus in early 2012. This year, the winner will take home $10,000 cash, $500 in Panera gift cards, free bagels for a year and the opportunity to see his or her creation on menus across the country.
